Inside a Luxury Home in Farrcroft, Fairfax VA

Our newest YouTube home tour takes you inside a spacious luxury colonial in Farrcroft, one of Fairfax City's established residential communities near downtown Fairfax. The home combines a dramatic two story great room, large entertaining kitchen, oversized primary suite, flexible finished lower level, and a beautifully designed backyard, but there is much more to see once Nicole and Trish start exploring. Why Farrcroft Stands Out in Fairfax

The tour begins with the location, because that is one of the biggest reasons this home caught our attention.

Farrcroft is an established community in the City of Fairfax near downtown shops, restaurants, community events, and everyday conveniences. The neighborhood itself includes sidewalks, landscaped common areas, and a community pool.

Downtown Fairfax also hosts community events throughout the year, including Rock the Block concerts in Old Town Square.

In the video, Nicole points out how close the home feels to the heart of Fairfax while still offering the residential feel of a traditional neighborhood.

That combination is part of what makes Farrcroft interesting for buyers comparing Fairfax, Vienna, Burke, Fairfax Station, and surrounding Northern Virginia communities.

The Entrance Sets the Tone

From the outside, the home already gives you a hint of what is coming.

There is a large two car garage, extensive brick exterior, mature landscaping, and a Juliet style balcony overlooking the front entrance.

Step inside and the scale changes quickly.

The two story foyer opens into a flexible main level where traditional rooms do not necessarily need to be used in traditional ways.

There is space for a sitting room, office, homework area, dining room, and additional gathering spaces before you even reach the centerpiece of the house.

The Great Room Is Where the House Gets Dramatic

The great room is one of those spaces that simply shows better on video.

Think soaring ceilings, two levels of windows, built in cabinetry, a gas fireplace, and enough vertical space for the kind of Christmas tree that probably requires professional help.

Nicole and Trish immediately start imagining what entertaining and holidays could look like in the space.

And then you turn toward the kitchen.

We will not give away every detail, but the kitchen includes substantial cabinet and counter space, a large island, multiple ovens, a gas cooktop, an eating area, and one feature that gets a particularly enthusiastic reaction from the tour.

The pantry.

It is not just another closet.

You will have to watch the video to see why they spend so much time talking about it.

Wait Until You See the Primary Suite

Upstairs, there are four bedrooms, including secondary rooms with interesting bathroom configurations and one suite that Nicole and Trish quickly nickname the princess suite.

But the primary suite is where the upstairs tour really changes.

The bedroom has enough room for a separate sitting area, a large walk in closet, and a bathroom that quickly becomes one of Nicole's favorite spaces in the entire house.

There is a large soaking tub.

There is a separate shower with a bench.

There are dual sinks.

And yes, they put the bathtub through their usual test.

🎥 See the entire primary suite in the YouTube tour.

The Basement Feels Like Another Living Space

The finished lower level may be the biggest surprise in the house.

Nicole describes one portion as feeling almost like its own apartment.

There is a full bathroom, kitchenette area with extensive cabinetry, refrigerator, sink, large closet, recreation space, and a separate exterior entrance. The video makes clear that the additional room shown downstairs is not legally a bedroom, but the overall lower level offers several possibilities for how someone could use the space.

And just when you think you have seen the whole basement, another set of doors opens.

There is even more space behind them.

Movie room?

Gym?

Craft room?

Game area?

Storage?

Nicole and Trish start throwing out possibilities, but we will let you decide what you would do with it.

A Big House Without an Overwhelming Backyard

The final stop is the backyard, and it may be one of the smartest parts of the property.

This is a large home, but the outdoor space is designed to feel usable rather than overwhelming.

The backyard includes hardscaping, multiple sitting areas, landscaping, trees for privacy, and a pergola with string lights. It connects easily back to the kitchen, making it feel like another entertaining space rather than an area separated from the rest of the house.

Nicole and Trish both point out the same thing.

You get the space of a large house without having to maintain an enormous yard.

There are certain homes where photos simply do not communicate how the rooms connect.

This is one of them.

The two story great room feels different once you see someone standing inside it.

The primary suite makes more sense when you walk from the sitting area into the closet and bathroom.

And the basement feels significantly larger once Nicole and Trish keep opening doors and discovering more space.

Then leave a comment and tell us this:

How would you use that huge lower level?

Movie room?

Teen retreat?

Gym?

Game room?

Something completely different?
