What is it like inside one of the largest colonial models in Kings Park West? Our newest YouTube video takes you inside the Baron Model, a spacious center hall colonial in one of Fairfax's established neighborhoods, with flexible living spaces, a large kitchen, a screened porch, a finished lower level, and a backyard that quickly became one of our favorite parts of the tour. The video also explores why Kings Park West continues to appeal to Northern Virginia buyers, with sidewalks, playgrounds, access to Royal Lake, nearby shopping, and commuter options. Want to see the house for yourself? Watch the full Kings Park West home tour on YouTube.
This is not a polished highlight reel where you only see the perfect angles. Nicole and Trish actually walk through the house, talk about how they would use the rooms, point out features they love, and have a little fun along the way.
Why Kings Park West Stands Out
Before they even step inside, Nicole explains why the location deserves attention.
Kings Park West is an established Fairfax community with sidewalks, multiple playgrounds, access to Royal Lake, nearby shopping, and convenient commuting options. The tour also points out the home's proximity to Robinson Secondary School and transportation options including VRE and commuter buses toward the Pentagon.
For commuters, the nearby Virginia Railway Express provides stations in Burke, including Burke Centre and Rolling Road, with service along the Manassas Line.
But location is only part of why this particular home caught our attention.
A Classic Colonial With More Flexibility Than You Might Expect
The Baron Model starts with a traditional center hall colonial layout.
You enter through the foyer with rooms on either side, but Nicole and Trish immediately point out that those spaces do not have to follow traditional rules.
The formal living room could become an office, den, playroom, or reading room. The dining room could also be adapted depending on how the next owner lives.
That flexibility is one of the recurring themes throughout the video.

Wait Until You See the Kitchen and Pantry Setup
We will not give away everything here, but storage definitely is not an afterthought.
The walkthrough moves from a butler's pantry with cabinetry and a beverage refrigerator into a large pantry closet and then into the main kitchen, where there is plenty of cabinet space, counter space, and natural light.
There is also a practical connection between the kitchen and two car garage that leads to a conversation anyone who has ever carried too many grocery bags at once will appreciate.
This is where the personalities in the video start coming through too.
The Backyard Might Steal the Tour
One of the biggest surprises is what happens once the tour reaches the back of the house.
The family room opens to a screened porch overlooking a backyard designed with multiple ways to actually use it.
There is space for morning coffee, entertaining, grilling, gardening, backyard games, and relaxing outside without having an enormous yard to maintain. Nicole and Trish both comment on how usable the space feels.
Rather than spoil the full view, watch the YouTube tour here and decide whether the porch would be your favorite part too.
There Is More Upstairs Than You Might Expect
The upstairs continues the theme of making use of almost every part of the house.
The tour explores the primary suite, a surprisingly large closet with built in storage, multiple secondary bedrooms, a hall bathroom with natural light, and even two linen closets.
There are also a few details that send Nicole and Trish completely off script.
We will leave those moments for the video.
Do Not Skip the Lower Level
The finished lower level adds another layer of flexibility.
There is a large recreation area that could work for movie nights, games, exercise, or another living space. The lower level also includes storage, laundry and utility areas, plus a separate den connected to a full bathroom.
The video specifically notes that the den is not technically a bedroom, but it could serve several other purposes depending on the household.
And yes, Nicole and Trish already have a few ideas for what they would put down there.
What Is It Really Like Living in Kings Park West?
A home tour is more useful when you understand what surrounds the house.
Kings Park West puts residents near parks, Royal Lake, Fairfax shopping and dining, George Mason University, Burke, Fairfax Station, and commuter routes throughout Northern Virginia.
The neighborhood also sits near James W. Robinson Secondary School, which serves both middle and high school students. Buyers should always confirm the current school assignment for a specific property directly with Fairfax County Public Schools rather than relying only on proximity.
For buyers comparing Fairfax, Burke, Fairfax Station, and surrounding communities, Kings Park West offers an interesting combination of established homes, mature neighborhoods, outdoor recreation, and access to major employment centers.
