From the outside, it looks like a charming established rambler.
Once Nicole and Trish start exploring, the home turns out to have a lot more personality and usable space than you might expect.
Living Inside the Beltway in Annandale
The tour begins with one of Annandale's biggest advantages.
Location.
Nicole and Trish point out the convenient commuting position along with the huge variety of restaurants nearby. Annandale is known for being one of Northern Virginia's best areas for trying food from different cultures, which is part of what makes living here feel different from many other suburban communities.
The property itself has a long driveway, plenty of parking, a deep carport, mature trees, brick pathways, and extensive hardscaping before you even step inside.

The Original Character Is Still Here
One of the first things Nicole and Trish notice inside is the flooring.
The original hardwood floors have been refinished and lightened, giving them a more current look without losing the character of the home.
The living room also features a wood burning fireplace, a huge picture window, and built in shelving surrounding the fireplace.
Those built ins become a theme throughout the house.
Older homes sometimes have little details and storage areas you simply do not see in newer construction, and this rambler has plenty of them.
Even the dining area has built in storage tucked into the wall.
Nicole and Trish immediately start imagining what they would put there.
Including an entire Christmas village.
The Kitchen Starts a Debate
Then comes the kitchen.
And Nicole and Trish do not completely agree.
One prefers a more open kitchen.
The other likes having the kitchen separated so the cooking mess stays out of sight when guests are over.
This kitchen is enclosed, but it offers plenty of counter space, cabinets, pantry storage, a separate cooktop, double ovens, and upgraded appliances.
But the feature that gets the most attention is the enormous garden window.
It is the kind of window that immediately makes you start imagining fresh basil, cilantro, herbs, and houseplants growing above the kitchen sink.
🌿 Team open kitchen?
🌿 Team closed kitchen?
The video ends up becoming a pretty good debate about both.
🎥 See the kitchen in the full YouTube tour and decide which side you are on.
Three Bedrooms on the Main Level
The rambler layout keeps the primary bedroom and two additional bedrooms on the main level.
The primary gets natural light from windows on two sides and includes its own private bathroom.
There is even an old school laundry chute, one of several quirky original details Nicole and Trish discover during the tour.
They also point out a simple improvement that can make a surprising difference when preparing an older home for sale.
Lighting.
Replacing dated fixtures with inexpensive low profile fixtures can immediately make a room look brighter and more current, especially in listing photos.
The Lower Level Is Much Bigger Than Expected
Then they head downstairs.
This is where the home really starts surprising them.
The lower level has new flooring, another wood burning fireplace, built in cabinetry, multiple seating areas, workspaces, plenty of windows, and direct access to the backyard.
Even with the lights turned off, Nicole and Trish point out how much natural light reaches the space.
There is also a flexible den that could work as:
🏋️ A workout room
🎨 A craft space
💻 An office
📦 Additional storage
And then they open another door.
That is when the tour gets interesting.
There Is a Hidden Workshop
Nicole and Trish genuinely did not expect this part.
Behind the utility and storage areas is an additional workshop filled with a workbench, tool storage, shelving, and all sorts of little details left behind from years of projects.
Their reaction in the video is completely genuine because they had not explored it beforehand.
It is exactly the type of feature that makes touring older homes fun.
You never quite know what is behind the next door.
🎥 Watch Nicole and Trish discover the workshop in the full tour.
There Is Another Bedroom Downstairs
The surprises continue on the other side of the lower level.
There is additional built in storage, another bedroom with a window and closet, and a full bathroom with a shower.
Nicole jokingly calls it the princess suite.
Combined with the large recreation area, separate bedroom, bathroom, storage, and backyard access, the lower level gives the home much more flexibility than you might expect from the exterior.
Then You Step Into the Backyard
The backyard might be one of the most appealing parts of the property.
The home has extensive brick construction and hardscaping leading into a deep, wooded backyard.
There are mature trees, privacy, and enough space that Nicole and Trish immediately start imagining forts, play areas, and places for kids to explore.
Best of all, you are not staring directly into another house behind you.
It feels surprisingly private for a home located inside the Beltway.
